Reusable glass bottles are a central component of a sustainable circular economy. They stand for quality, environmental awareness and resource conservation – but their success depends not only on reuse, but also on well thought-out logistics.
From the return of used bottles to industrial bottle cleaning and refilling, every detail plays a role. One factor that is often underestimated: the right crates, also known as beverage crates. They ensure safe transport, efficient handling and the seamless return of bottles to the reusable cycle.
Univerre’s universal bottle crates
The wide variety of bottle shapes on the market poses a particular challenge for logistics. Univerre has taken on this task and developed three types of bottle crate that take functionality and design to the next level. The result: an innovative upgrade of the conventional Viniharasse that is not only visually impressive, but has also been ergonomically optimised – ideal for the demanding HoReCa sector as well as for private use.
6-bottle crate for Bordelaise 70/75 cl bottles
The drinks crate has been developed to accommodate all bordelaise bottles with a capacity of 70 to 75 cl and a height of between 289 and 321 mm – regardless of the neck finish. This sophisticated design guarantees maximum flexibility and efficiency in logistics.
6-bottle crates for Burgundy 70/75 cl bottles
A specially designed drinks crate has also been developed for Burgundy bottles. It is perfectly adapted to bottles with a capacity of 70 to 75 cl and a height of between 279 and 311 mm – regardless of the neck finish. This ensures optimum storage and handling.
10-bottle carafe for Harmonie 50cl bottles
Another important aspect was the upgrading of the popular Désirée 50cl wine bottle and the promotion of returnable bottles. A specially developed drinks crate was therefore designed for Harmonie bottles with a capacity of 50 cl – an ideal solution for focussing even more strongly on sustainability and reuse.
The advantages of the new beverage crates for returnable bottles
Our specially developed beverage crates not only offer protection and convenience, but also set new standards in ergonomics, sustainability and efficiency.
- Ergonomic design for effortless transport
Thanks to the central handle, the crates are particularly easy to handle and can be transported effortlessly in both the private and HoReCa sectors. The well thought-out design ensures comfortable handling and reduces the strain of carrying.
- Space-saving and stackable
The crates are designed so that they can be easily stacked. Whether in the cellar, in the catering trade or in the warehouse – they enable space-saving storage and ensure optimum use of the available space.
- Sustainable and paperless
By using beverage crates, cardboard packaging can be dispensed with. This not only reduces waste in the catering and private sectors, but also lowers the cost of cardboard material – a sustainable solution for wine cellars and restaurants.
- protection and durability
The robust crates offer optimum protection for the bottles during transport and storage. They are unbreakable and durable, which further emphasises their environmental friendliness.
- Versatile in use
Whether for Bordeaux, Burgundy or Harmonie bottles – the crates can be used universally and adapt to the different needs of the wine industry.
