Founded in 1902, the Artisans Vignerons d’Yvorne (AVY) cooperative has been producing exceptional Vaud wines for over a century. The team, made up of around ten passionate professionals, cellars, vinifies and markets the production of 120 members, with the appellation Yvorne Chablais AOC.

The diversity of grape varieties used reflects the expertise and know-how of the AVY winegrowers. Production features Chasselas, but also a wide range of white varieties (Doral, Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc) and red varieties (Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gamaret, Garanoir, Cabernet Franc, Galotta, Divico, Mara and Diolinoir). Grown on 55 hectares of the 160-hectare production area, the vineyards benefit from a unique terroir that gives the wines remarkable aromatic richness and complexity.

Elitis wine, the fruit of the labours of our winegrowers, stands out not only for its quality, but also for its innovative concept. With its elegant, screen-printed bottle design, Elitis is a fully modern product.

This unique experience is based on the integration of an NFC tag that transforms the bottle into an interactive point of contact. By scanning the NFC tag, consumers can access a dedicated page offering a number of immersive features:

  • Digital tasting: A fun approach that allows consumers to rate their impressions and share with the community.
  • Exclusive competitions: A way of energising the customer experience and encouraging interaction with the brand.
  • Direct purchase: A simplified opportunity to order wine in just a few clicks.
  • Detailed information: Access to enriched content about the wine, its terroir and production.
  • Integrated Spotify playlist: A selection of music designed to accompany wine tasting.

With this new creation, the AVY wanted to offer a festive wine to share, which ‘can be drunk almost like a cocktail’. Its innovative nature makes it an ideal candidate for NFC technology, providing answers to the many questions asked by customers. The connected experience offers a better understanding of wine, its characteristics and, above all, opportunities for consumption that we wouldn’t necessarily think of.

The integration of NFC also aims to encourage exchanges with consumers. Thanks to surveys and feedback, it is possible to identify areas for improvement to ensure that the product fully meets the public’s expectations. ‘We had a lot of fun giving Elitis a life and a world, and we still have new ideas for developing this world,’ says Hannelore Leemann, Head of Communications and Marketing at AVY.

This project is part of the ‘phygital’ trend, which merges physical and digital experiences to offer consumers total immersion. Univerre, an expert in connected packaging, has developed this solution in response to new market expectations.

Thanks to NFC, each bottle becomes an interactive communication tool, enabling producers to obtain real-time feedback on how their wines are being enjoyed.
