Kadija de Paula’s personalised glass milk bottle
On International Milk Day, we’d like to highlight the work of Kadija de Paula, a talented Brazilian and Canadian artist who challenges our ideas about work, resources and social practices.
One of her new projects, MILK IT, is an artistic reflection on the value of human milk as a precious resource.
Kadija has personalised themilk bottles using the screen-printing process, giving this project an extra level of uniqueness and creativity.
Who is Kadija de Paula?
This Brazilian-born Canadian visual artist and author combines food, text and performance in her art. Kadija de Paula does this to create situations and events that question the value of work, resources and social practices.
The MILK IT project
Kadija de Paula is currently a fellow at the Sommerakademie Paul Klee (SPK) in Bern. There, she is conducting research on the theme of reproductive rights, with the aim of challenging the taboo on the ways in which human procreation is forced.
At la_cápsula, de Paula will present the MILK IT project during a discussion between artists: pasteurized human milk made to nourish the future of those who have not yet digested the insult of being born.
