Lewa Spirits: Craft spirits that are a sight to behold
Lewa Spirits – a liqueur idea with plenty of innovation and sustainability
The Gurtenfestival in Bern marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey for David and his flatmates, who heralded a new era with the production of the first ginger liqueur on their local mountain. This liqueur, mixed with El Tony Mate, quickly became a hit among friends and led to the founding of JINJERGOLD. With innovation at its heart, further creations followed, including Switzerland’s first mate liqueur and the berry-flavoured gin THARO.
When the coronavirus crisis struck, it forced the team to rethink and get creative. The result: Pumphead® – an ingenious solution for transforming empty but beautiful glass bottles into useful dispensers and thus doing something good for the environment. A community where tradition meets innovation and every bottle tells a story.
When personalisation on glass bottles meets innovation and uniqueness
When we first saw the Lewa Spirits bottles, we at Univerre were immediately captivated by the precision and beauty of every detail. The design captivates with its timeless elegance, minimalist clarity and unmistakable uniqueness, with the Tharo Gin standing out in particular with its black bottle and gold-coloured (imitation) screen print. This bottle is not only a visual delight, but also immediately awakens the desire to taste the gin hidden inside. As everyone knows, the packaging forms the first, decisive contact with the customer at the point of sale and is essential for successful customer acquisition.
We are convinced that these spirits creations perfectly capture the spirit of the times in terms of packaging design. And as far as flavour is concerned, it is in no way inferior to the perfect design and rounds off the experience.
Berne’s iconic bear: a deep source of inspiration for the company’s design
We asked the company’s CEO, David Brönnimann, about the origin of their design inspiration, and it turns out to be a tribute to the symbol of the company’s location, Bern, where the bear holds great cultural significance! Indeed, for centuries, the bear has been deeply rooted in the identity of the Swiss city, symbolizing the strength, resilience and pride of its inhabitants. This historical connection between Bern and the bear gives the design an even deeper meaning, strengthening the bond between the company and its local community. What’s more, the geometric shape of the bear adds an attractive, timeless touch, harmoniously blending tradition and modernity in the company’s visuals. They’ve taken this strong, ancient symbol and modernized it with minimalist, slender lines, giving it a contemporary look while preserving its historic essence.
