Snake: A bottle with a powerful symbol screen-printed in real gold
The story behind some wine bottles goes far beyond what’s inside. Behind each creation often lies a personal story, a heritage and an artistic vision. That’s exactly the spirit behind this unique bottle, the fruit of a passion for wine, a refined Art Deco aesthetic and a powerful symbolism inspired by the life of its creator, Samantha Filipinetti.
Discovering wine in the family
The origins of this passion for wine lie in an important family experience. Samantha Filipinetti discovered the world of wine at Grandson Castle, a family estate where she had the opportunity to explore the cellar. ‘That’s how I developed my passion for wine,’ she confides. This direct contact with quality wines nurtured a love of oenology that would leave a lasting mark on her career.
A personal wine project in the Lavaux region
By settling in the Lavaux region, Samantha Filipinetti has taken a new step in her oenological adventure. Known for its UNESCO World Heritage vineyards, Lavaux is a rich and emblematic land, where she decided to plant Chasselas vines on a unique limestone terroir. ‘It took a decade,’ she explains, underlining the patience and passion required to produce her first vintages.
Initially a private project, it had no commercial vocation, but was part of a desire to create a wine for personal and family enjoyment.
From jewellery creation to bottle design
Although her first vocation was to create jewellery and luxury products, aesthetics have always played a central role in Samantha Filipinetti’s life. Inspired by the elegance of the 1930s, a period she is particularly fond of, she has transposed this artistic vision to the world of wine. The sophisticated, geometric style of the 1930s has strongly influenced the design of her bottles, transforming them into art objects in their own right, transcending the idea of a simple label. ‘Since my primary vocation is the creation and enhancement of luxury products, particularly jewellery, I’ve always liked to add a feminine touch with a hint of the 1930s,’ she explains.
A bottle with strong symbolism
It soon became clear that a bottle without a visual identity could not fully reflect Samantha Filipinetti’s vision. The idea of creating a unique, fluid and harmonious design was born, going beyond the traditional label approach. ‘I couldn’t imagine a bottle without an image,’ she says, emphasising her desire to wrap the bottle in a visual energy that goes all the way round the container.
Rather than choosing a traditional noble coat of arms, Samantha Filipinetti has opted for a more personal symbol: the viper. This choice stems from a striking encounter with a viper in a protected area where wine is grown. ‘One day, one bit me’, she recalls. This event, which symbolises the fragility of existence, inspired the creation of a strong totem, which now adorns her bottles. This symbol, stylised in real gold, wraps around the bottle like an elegant arm bracelet, in an Art Deco spirit, adding a powerful aesthetic and symbolic dimension to the creation.
