Wat the G*: Precious water in a golden bottle
Wat The G* – Gaisberg Grandeur Gold comes from a natural spring on the eastern slopes of the Gaisberg, Salzburg’s iconic mountain. Known for its ancient powers, the Gaisberg was once prized as a source of spirit and spirituality.
The fortuitous discovery of the mountain’s source in 2019 marked the start of the adventure. Founder Christian Hetz tells us: “After deciding to bottle the water, we were extremely surprised to win the gold medal for best taste in the world for our still water at the international water tasting organised by the American Fine Water Society. The following year, we took part again and even won a double gold medal in Los Angeles, this time also for the sparkling variant.
After these assessments, it was clear that Wat the G* had to position itself in the premium sector!
Elegance in a bottle: luxury water for an exclusive clientele
Wat The G* – Gaisberg Grandeur Gold is more than just a bottle of water – it’s a statement of exclusivity and taste. This luxurious bottle is aimed at both haute gastronomie and the growing market of private water lovers. In a world where healthy eating is becoming increasingly important, water is becoming a beverage to be enjoyed with the same dedication and expertise as a fine wine or refined whisky.
In keeping with the premium concept, we opted for premium personalisation of the bottle. “In Univerre, we have found the ideal partner for the production of our highly individual bottles of exceptional quality,” explains Christian Hetz, describing the collaboration with Univerre.
Exceptional bottle design
Wat The G*’s exclusive range includes two types of refined water: still and sparkling. Each bottle is adorned with real gold accents, giving it a unique premium character. The real gold printing on the glass creates a luxurious packaging that perfectly reflects the essence of the product. The bottles are distinguished by their elegant colours: still water is presented in a refined white, while sparkling water comes in a sophisticated black.
The Gaisbergwasser company wanted to make a difference by using white and black to differentiate between still and sparkling water, in order to retain its premium character and stand out from other waters currently on the market.
To emphasise the quality and exclusivity of this water, part of the gold medal won in the best water competition has been symbolically incorporated into the bottles.
The work carried out on these bottles is exceptionally meticulous. Each bottle is entirely screen-printed, with an entire frame to print the first colour, which covers the entire bottle. The firing time is adapted to maintain the matt finish of the bottle. Genuine gold is then applied to the bottle, followed by the same firing process. This process gives the bottles an even more exclusive character.
